The demand for SEO professionals has exploded in recent years, and it’s only going to keep growing. As brands compete for visibility in this AI-driven search landscape, pursuing an SEO career has become one of the most rewarding and future-proof paths in digital marketing.
From technical optimisation and content strategy to analytics and creative problem-solving, SEO jobs offer a blend of skills that keep every day interesting. Whether you’re curious about how to break into the industry or ready to take the next step as an SEO specialist, we’re going to break down what it’s really like to work in SEO here at StudioHawk.
1. Leave your ego at the door
Believing in yourself is important, and thinking you’re immune to mistakes is unrealistic; we’re all only human! Egos can get in the way of learning, growth, and development, which is a huge part of the culture at StudioHawk.
We encourage our people to be confident in themselves, their skills, and their peers. But we also encourage them to listen to new perspectives and try new ideas, because one thing about SEO is that it’s constantly changing, and we all have to be ready for that.
2. Mistakes happen — so let’s own up to them.
You know that sinking feeling when you realise you’ve spent weeks building links to a page that’s no-indexed? We’ve all been there. StudioHawk wouldn’t be where it is today without a few slip-ups along the way.
What matters is how you acknowledge them, voice them, and move forward. Mistakes are a crucial part of learning; they make us sharper, humbler, and more proactive.
When something goes wrong, own it, learn from it, and adjust your approach. That’s how you grow. That’s how we all get better.
3. We love questions.
If there's one thing we love more than SEO, it’s questions (specifically questions about SEO!). Asking questions means curiosity and an eagerness to learn, two things we value highly. Be that annoying kid who just found out what the word ‘why’ means.
During the interview process, it’s not just us getting to know you. We want you to get to know us as well. It takes two to tango, and we want to make sure that not only are we choosing the best candidate for us, but you’re choosing the right employer for you. But don’t let the questions stop there. From newbies to seniors, we welcome questions with open arms.
4. Attitude, then skill.
Technical skill is important, but it’s not everything. We look for people who bring curiosity, humility, and a genuine drive to grow. Our culture thrives when we hire people who not only fit, but add something new to it, fresh perspectives, positive energy, and a willingness to collaborate.
You can have all the SEO expertise in the world, but if you’re not open to feedback or lifting up those around you, then you might not be the right fit. Skills can always be developed; the right attitude is what keeps our team strong, connected, and constantly improving.
When you show up with curiosity, initiative, and a bit of grit, we’ll meet you halfway, with the training, mentorship, and opportunities to help you level up.
Because at the end of the day, the right mindset builds the kind of team that makes StudioHawk what it is.
5. We take onboarding very, very seriously.
There’s a lot to take in when you join StudioHawk: new tools, new faces, and a fast-paced environment. But one thing’s for sure, you won’t be left to figure it out alone.
From day one, you’ll have mentors, regular check-ins, and a clear onboarding roadmap that guides you every step of the way. We know those first few weeks can shape your entire experience, which is why we invest so much in getting it right, and not just in your first week, but throughout your entire probation period.
You’ll have structured 30, 60, and 90-day check-ins, a pre-probation review with our Head of People & Culture, and plenty of opportunities to learn from senior Hawks across the business.
6. Our values aren’t just for show.
We truly live by our values, and they come naturally to us. They guide how we hire, promote, reward, and give feedback. From your first day to your first win (and every day after), you’ll see them in action, whether it’s someone owning a mistake, lifting up a teammate, or going above and beyond for a client. They are an integral part of life at StudioHawk.

7. We value transparency.
We’re not about smoke and mirrors. We’re upfront about our expectations, goals, and feedback. From sharing wins to acknowledging areas where we can do better, we believe in open and honest communication, and that goes both ways. If you have something on your mind, an idea or some feedback to share, we encourage you to speak up.
If you reach the end of your onboarding and feel that StudioHawk isn’t for you, that’s okay! We want you to love your role and understand that sometimes we’re not the right fit.
8. You’ll be challenged and supported.
At StudioHawk, you’ll face challenges that will push you to grow. But you won’t face them alone. Every step of the way, you’ll have a village behind you cheering you on. Whether it's your fellow team members you can use as a sounding board, or a manager offering guidance, support is always accessible.
We use monthly check-ins as a regular touch point between team members and managers; it’s a great way to give feedback both ways.
9. We’re always improving.
We know we’re not perfect, and that’s exactly the point. We constantly seek feedback from our people to understand what’s working, what needs to change, and what needs to go.
From monthly surveys that check in on the office vibe (spoiler: it’s pretty great) to new workflows and tools that keep us evolving, we’re never standing still. We know when to acknowledge a mistake, learn from it, and pivot fast.
Perfection isn’t our goal, evolution is.
10. Always include a cover letter.
Trust us, we read them. And they really do make a difference. Your résumé tells us what you’ve done, but your cover letter tells us who you are, why you’re excited about the role, and how you approach your work, which is often the most important part.
We’re not expecting a novel, but we do want to get a sense of you. Tell us what drew you to StudioHawk, what excites you about SEO or marketing, or even what you’re hoping to learn next.
And don’t forget: include your favourite hobby so we know you’ve read the job ad properly 😉
Because the best applications don’t just tick boxes, they show us the human behind the screen. So whether you do circus acrobatics in your spare time or read 100 books last year, let us know!
So, should you apply?
If you’re curious, collaborative, and ready to grow, absolutely. Working at StudioHawk isn’t about being perfect; it’s about showing up, being open to learning, and helping your teammates win too.
We’re a team of passionate, slightly nerdy SEO pros who genuinely love what we do (and have a lot of fun doing it). If that sounds like your kind of environment, we’d love to hear from you.
Check out our Careers page for open roles, or send simply through your cover letter and résumé through the careers form, and don’t forget to tell us your favourite hobby 😉
